HUT-TO-HUT
WESTERN UINTA HUT SYSTEM

Fully supported and guided hut to hut experiences available this season!

Welcome to the First chapter of the Western Uinta Hut System—a new network of backcountry yurts designed to provide adventurers with unparalleled access to the beauty and rugged wilderness of Utah’s Uinta Mountains. Inspired Summit Adventures is excited to announce the second yurt in this growing system.

Castle Peak Yurt To Smith and Morehouse Yurt
Guided and Catered

NEW! For winter 2024/25 Inspired Summit Adventures is thrilled to share our new hut to hut guided and catered trips.

During this multi day trip you and your group will start at the Castle Peak Yurt. There you will get a lay of the land, go for some upper elevation ski tours and enjoy the wood burning sauna. Half way through your trip you will leave your overnight gear behind for our team to transfer for you while you head deeper into the Uintas.

Your guide will lead you to slopes that rarely see human activity and scarcely see other skiers. These slopes are a mix of open alpine faces, chutes, and couloirs, old burnt forests, and fantastic glades running 1000-2500' vertical feet in length. Your guides will ensure you and your group find the best snow and slopes while managing the route based on the avalanche and weather forecast for the day.

After your full day of touring and skiing a minimum of 5000' vertical feet with roughly 10 miles of descending you will be greeted at the new Smith and Morehouse yurt where the fire will be stoked, the charcuterie board will be over flowing, and your gear and snowmobiles will be awaiting you.

The buzz of the day, plus the magical transportation of your gear and the care in which our team has taken on this one of a kind traverse will leave you wondering if you just found paradise. But wait! You also just realized you get another day (or more) of skiing from an entirely new backcountry yurt!

WELCOME TO THE WESTERN UINTA HUT SYSTEM TOUR

The Yurts

Yurt? Isn't that some sort of tent from Mongolia????

Yes, technically a yurt is a portable, round tent covered in some sort of fabric or animal hide, and traditionally they have been used by nomadic cultures or groups in the steppes of Central Asia for shelter.  But, here at Inspired Summit we believe a yurt is so much more.  We believe a yurt is a gathering space for families and friends to share adventures, laughs and stories.  We believe a yurt brings us closer to the ones we share it with, and to the environment in which it exists.  We believe a yurt builds bonds, and memories that last a lifetime.

Inspired Summit Adventures is proud to be the owner and steward of The Western Uinta Hut System in the Uinta Mountains of Utah.  We take this role seriously and aim to continue the legacy of the Castle Peak Yurt, and the yurt experience in the Uinta Mountains going strong for generations to come.

Inspired Summit Adventures operates on a Special Use Permit issued by the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest
